Making your lipstick last is nearly impossible- that’s why I stop wearing it anymore. For months I stop wearing lipstick because I knew that as soon as I would leave home, it would be gone (touching it with my hands, eating ,drinking and so on). You might be saying, well that’s not a problem because long lasting lipsticks have been invented- and I know that, and I have tried them, but believe me, having my lips red after trying to take it off, or even worse the lipstick would be gone in certain places while in other place was impossible to wash it off. No thanks, long lasting lipstick (24 hours effect) are not something I would like to try again.
However, I have found the top basic rules of making your lipstick last and those are:
1- Scrub: It is essential to use a good base before applying your lipstick.
2-Prep: Once your lips are smooth and soft, seal it in with lip balm.
3-Fill: It is important to line your lips with a pencil (same color as your lipstick) and then fill in carefully.
4-Apply: – apply, blot, repeat.
5-Seal: While I was watching a makeup artist applying lipstick in one of his model I saw that he applied light dusting powder as the final touch. It works perfectly!
