In cold weather, one loves to get warmth by hot beverages and soups. Soups help us to stay warm inside out. They are healthy and they boost your energy when you are unwilling to leave your warm space to do different chores. We have enlisted top soups that you just can’t miss this winter. French Onion Soup
It is a delicious soup that can be made really quick.
4 cups thinly sliced onions
1/2 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup vegetable oil
4 cups beef broth
4 slices French bread, toasted
1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
Take some oil in a soup pot and cook onions, sugar, and pepper for approximately 15-20 minutes. Keep on stirring. Now add broth and let it cook to boil. Now cover the pot and simmer for 20 minutes. Take it into bowls that are ovenproof. Take bread and cheese to do the topping for each bowl. Now broil it so that cheese gets bubbly.
Panera’s Cream Cheese Potato Soup
Panera’s Cream Cheese Potato Soup is served best in a sourdough bread bowl to get more appreciation and lovely comments.
4 cups chicken broth
4 cups peeled and cubed potatoes
1/4 cup minced onion
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cut into chunks
First of all, mix broth, potatoes, onion, and all spices. Now cook it on medium heat so that the potatoes get little tender. Smash the potatoes a little bit as well while they cook. Add cream cheese and heat well. Keep the soup stirring till the time cheese melts.
Roasted Tomato Soup
Roasted Tomato Soup is another soup which is brilliant in taste and is an awesome choice for winters.
2 lbs plum tomatoes
6 garlic cloves, peeled and whole
1/4 medium red onion
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
2 sprigs oregano, remove leaves from stem
3 -4 basil leaves
2 cups fat-free vegetable broth or 2 cups fat-free chicken broth or 2 cups water
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, shaved or grated (optional)
Make your oven ready by pre-heating it to 375 degrees. Now cut the tomatoes and place them in a shallow dish that you will use for baking. Keep the cut side down-facing in the dish. Now take a pan and add onions, garlic, oregano, and basil in it. Sprinkle the vegetables with olive oil and vinegar and season salt and pepper according to your taste. Bake it for 45 minutes. Now take the baked vegetables in a food processor and make a puree. Now add broth or water as you want so that the soup gets a little thick. Garnish with cheese if you like and serve.
